Turns out the guy just got married a month ago and he promised his husband he’d be monogamous. But a month later he was traveling and horny and decided to take a load from a complete stranger. There was something that was semi-important that he was supposed to be doing that evening, but instead he was off taking a load. On top of everything else, his BarebackRT profile said HIV Status: Not Sure – I wonder if his new husband knows that detail as well? Having been married now for 7 years, and domestic partners for 6+ more years I do worry about the whole gay marriage thing. Mind you, we need gay marriage rather desperately, but gay marriage isn’t a political statement and it’s not something you do ’cause you think it will be cool or fun. People forget that it’s easy to get married, but much often harder to get divorced. Straight folk often have the prospect of kids – which in an of itself is a long-term commitment. Sometimes I feel like that long-term commitment is missing in some of the gay marriages – not all, just some. I didn’t delve into all that with this trick, so I can’t say how much of what I’ve just said applies to him. It’s more like he made me think about it and wonder.<\/p>\n
