I need to get back in the saddle…

My being so busy at the end of last year sorta put me off my game… I got out of the habit of fucking and just haven’t felt the urge to get back into it… It really is a habit with me, I know it sounds weird, but looking back I can go for months without much fucking – I just get out of the habit and don’t miss it for a while…
The work stress of last year has been replaced by a desire to sell our apartment and all the mixed emotions and frenzy that comes with that. Our current place is one bedroom too small, but up until a few weeks ago my bf didn’t want to sell it ’cause he was really attached to it. The falling real estate prices present us with a unique opportunity. The building we’re in is still pretty desirable and the prices have remained fairly strong. But the prices of what we’d like to get have fallen dramatically because the market for that type of property has been more speculative.
We did renovations 3 years ago, but there were some finishing details we told ourselves we were going to take care of but then never did. So now we’re in a bit of a frantic scenario where we need to get them done quickly. Things like sending all the doors out to be stripped and replacing all the hardware on the doors have been reduced to hand stripping the worst doors to a point that they’re “adequate” and then just painting everything and forgetting about the hardware… Still, there’s a lot to do…
It’s a long story, but the end result might involve a move to Brooklyn. The type of place we want we can’t quite afford in Manhattan, but we can in Brooklyn. But we’re thinking of just selling and renting for a while until the market looks like it’s bottomed and then buying at that point when prices are low. Maybe then we can afford what we want in Manhattan…
The end result is that life has been a bit crazy, and sex has not been a priority. But I gotta change that and get back into the saddle – which is a funny way of putting it since ‘bareback’ comes from riding horses without a saddle…
Post some pics of the apartment…
IMHO, I would sell the place and buy the one that you want. With interest rates as low as they are putting off buying today for the hope that prices will get lower is a risk not worth taking. Especially if demand for your place is strong, take advantage of the real estate sale and move on. Additionally, if you are looking for a condo, all products through Fannie Mae and Freddy Mac will be adding .75% on to loans for condos beginning April 1, 2009. Full Disclosure: I am involved in real estate, just not in NYC.
I live in Brooklyn and hate it. Stay in Manhattan……grass is always greener I suppose.
