Last year was my first year going to MAL (Mid-Atlantic Leather). It was a lot of fun – sorta smaller version of IML, still plenty of sex to be had though… Well, this year they’ve made some changes. In previous years it was at a fairly small hotel (340 rooms) and you had to pay $185 to the club running the event just to be eligible to book a room at the host hotel. This year they’ve moved to a much bigger hotel (more then double the size – 836 rooms) and they dropped the requirement to pay them to attend the event. Well, the change of venue and policy turned out to be a great idea and a month before the event the host hotel was completely booked and they had to get a block of rooms across the street at another hotel.
IML is in a 2,000 room hotel – and doesn’t always fill the hotel – so this means MAL is now probably at least half the size of IML – IML is huge, so that makes MAL BIG – in the middle of a down economy too… That means MAL will probably have about 1500 horny gay men wanting to fuck… It looks like it’s going to be a lot of fun!
Continuing the tradition of gangbangs that I’ve hosted at IML and MAL – I’m doing two this year… One on Saturday the 15th and one on Sunday the 16th. Drumstick, RawTop doesn’t say it’s the dawn of a wonderful new age, he simply says we’ve turned a corner, indicating that things have taken a different direction. I have to agree with him, things seem to have taken a different direction in the last while and you can definitely feel it out where I am.
As for the call as to whether this is a good direction or not, that’s pretty much an individual decision based on each individual’s situation. I don’t think anyone should be looking to a guy hosting a sex blog to be a role model, social engineer, or laying that kind of bull shit at his feet.
